Tlazoltiani Jessica Zamarripa (she/her/ella)
Tlazoltiani Jessica Zamarripa is co-director & co-founder of the Institute of Chicana/o/x Psychology. Tlazoltiani is a Cultural Educator, Mental Health Advocate, & Keeper of our ancestral wisdom. She is a long time Austin, TX mami activist and community organizer working toward social justice within the Chicanx and Latinx community. She was an organizer for the collective, Latina Mami, for more than 15 years. Her community home is Kalpulli Teokalli Teoyolotl. The preservation of her culture and community is a driving force in her life. Jessica is a founding member of Academia Cuauhtli, a local Austin language and cultural revitalization school program for Spanish speaking Mexican American elementary students. She is also a past council member of Alma de Mujer Center for Social Change and an Abuela/Elder Danzante de La Luna and danzante with Danza Mexica Xochipilli. Her writing, dancing and community work is medicine toward the liberation, healing, and flourishing of her children and her people.
Born in San Diego, CA, Kumeyaay territory. Jessica is a proud mother of three wonderful children—two sons and a daughter. Enjoys nature and is currently learning the art of Mexica Danza. Her spiritual journey began in a Christian church, where she dedicated over 15 years to facilitating spiritual retreats, cultivating a deep sense of community and spiritual connection. As a bilingual energy worker and a descendant of Mexica basket weavers, healers, and artesanos, Jessica has a rich heritage that deeply influences her practice. Her approach is heart-centered and eclectic, blending Reiki (in which she is trained in levels one and two) with Mexican-rooted practices and other healing methods. Jessica actively supports her Latinx community through various mental and spiritual modalities within her spiritual healing practice Corazón Yahuitl, where she leads moon circles, book clubs, leadership classes, inner child healing and various ceremonies. Embracing a holistic approach to well-being, she believes in the power of various healing methods, including mystical and magical practices. Her open-mindedness and inclusive perspective reflect a deep appreciation for both traditional and alternative practices, guiding others towards achieving balance, harmony, and their fullest potential.

Jessica Xochitl Dominguez (she/her/ella)
A proud Xicana, first gen daughter of padres inmigrantes from Nayarit, México (Wixárika/Huichol and Náayerite/Cora territories), Jessica was primarily raised in the Central Valley of California on Yokut and Miwok land, she lived for a few years in Nayarit as a child, and currently resides on occupied Ohlone land (Oakland, CA). With over 20 years of mental health counseling experience supporting the Latine community through workshops, trainings, conferences, and pláticas, Jessica actively centers culture in her life and practice as a bilingual psychotherapist, activist, and advocate. She is a firm believer that connecting to our cultura can promote healing, growth, and self-acceptance, while helping us shed internalized oppressive views, and deepen our connection to our authentic selves and to our comunidades. Passionate about social justice, Jessica supports others from the Mexican diaspora with their decolonization and re-indigenization journey, and is honored to help others reclaim and reconnect to their inner knowing, ancestral strength, and innate resilience. Jessica is currently on the Camino Rojo, learning to carry fire, bajo las ordenes de Abuela Tlazoltiani Zamarripa.
